RAPIRO comes with a total of 12 servo motors, one is neck, one is waist, four are two feet, six are two arms. Can walk with feet, Can grip a pen, Can turn its head and waist.
Torques of six servo motors of neck, waist and two feet, are 2.5kgf-cm(35ozf-in).
Torques of six servo motors of two arms are 1.5kgf-cm(21ozf-in).
Both operating speeds are 0.12 sec/60°. Both maximum angles are 180°.
Both servo motors of two kinds are special model for RAPIRO.
RAPIRO’s eyes are able to lit up brightly by RGB LEDs.
The name “RAPIRO” come from RAspberry PI RObot.
As its name suggests, RAPIRO can be mounted the Raspberry PI, that is the hot topic across the web as the compact computer.
Raspberry Pi is a credit card sized computer, works with Linux (Raspbian). Its price is approximately £31($50), although, it is able to connect to a PC display and speakers, connect internet with a LAN cable, and add function with USB devices. For example, wifi dongle, bluetooth dongle and so on.
Additionally, RAPIRO is designed to accept a Raspberry Pi Camera Module.
That is, if you embed your Raspberry Pi to a RAPIRO, it could provide the user with a wide range of developing possibilities. For example,

You can assemble a RAPIRO with only screwdriver, without soldering.
A servo control board, Arduino compatible with ATmega328P, which comes along with it.
So, you can set it in motions easily, if you work according to the documentation on website.
A beginner can learn robotics from a basic level with a RAPIRO.
And an expert could try to make a higher level software for your own RAPIRO with Raspberry Pi.
